Usethe’unlocked’positionforallnormal
driving,andusethe’DIFF-LOCK’positionto
improvetractioninextremeconditionswhere
wheelgripcouldbelost,suchas:wetgrass,
mud,sand,iceorsnow.Returntothe
’unlocked’positionassoonasdry,firm,
groundisreached.
DONOTusethe’difflock’unnecessarily!
TRANSFERGEARBOX
Thesecondgearleverisusedtoselecteither
thehighorlowrangeofgearsinthetransfer
gearboxand,inaddition,alsocontrolsthe
centredifferential(knownasthe’DIFFLOCK’).
Highrange(’H’)
Usehighrangeforallnormalroaddrivingand
alsoforoff-roaddrivingacrossdry,level
terrain.
Lowrange(’L’)
Uselowrangegearswhenmovingofffrom
restwhentowingaheavyload,orinany
situationwherelowspeedmanoeuvringis
necessary,suchasreversingatraileror
negotiatingaboulderstrewnriverbed;also
useformoreextremeoff-roadconditions
whereprogressinhighrangecannotbe
maintained.
