running,depresstheclutchandthenmove
theleverfullyforward(orbackwards)inTWO
distinctbutpositivemoves-’highto
neutral’....’neutraltolow’(orviceversa).
Ifthereisresistancetothegearengaging,do
notforcethelever.Instead,withthemain
leveringear,releasetheclutchmomentarily
andthentryagain.
Changing from low to high on the move:
Changingfrom’L’(low)to’H’(high)canbe
achievedwithoutstoppingthevehicle,as
follows:

Applyslightbackwardpressuretothe
transfergearleverinpreparationfor
changing.
Then,inthreesimultaneousmoves,
depresstheclutch,releasetheaccelerator
andpullthetransferleverintoneutral.
Releasetheclutchpedalforapproximately

secondsbeforedepressingitagainand
movingthetransferleverfirmlyintothe
highposition.

Finally,selectasuitablemaingear,release
theclutchandcontinuedrivinginthe
normalway.
NOTE: After a little practice, this operation
can be carried out smoothly and quicklyby
using firm, positive moves.
