V8engine(withairconditioning)
Onvehiclesfittedwithairconditioning,a
tensionerpulleyisfitted.Checkthebelt
deflectionwiththumbpressure,mid-way
betweenthefanandcrankshaftpulleys,onthe
sideoppositethetensionerpulley.Movement
shouldbeapproximately4mmto6mm(0.16
to0.25in).Ifadjustmentisnecessary;

Turnthestarterswitchtoposition’0’and
disconnectthebatterynegativelead.
•

Slackenthetensionerpulleypinchbolt(2).
Movethepulleytotheleft/rightto
increase/decreasetension.
•
•
Tightenthepulleypinchbolt.
Connectthebattery,runtheengineforfive
minutesatafastidleandthenswitchoff.
•
Re-checkthebelttension.
