Thepurposeofelectronictractioncontrolisto
aidtractionwhenonewheelspinswhilethe
otherstillhasgoodgrip,eg.ifonesideofthe
vehicleisoniceandtheotherisontarmac.
Thesystemworksbyapplyingthebraketoa
spinningwheelinordertotransfertorqueto
theothersideoftheaxle.
NOTE: Traction control only operates below
approximately30 mph (50 km/h).
Theinstrumentpanelhasatractioncontrol
warninglight(TC)whichilluminateswhenever
thesystemisactive(foraminimumof2
seconds)andalsoilluminatesasabulbcheck
(forapproximately4seconds)whenthe
starterswitchisturnedtoposition’II’.Inthe
unlikelyeventthattractioncontroloperates
continuouslyfortoolong(inexcessof
approximately1minute),thenthecontrolunit
shutsdowntoallowcoolingandthewarning
lightflashesforatleasttenseconds.
Ifthereisafaultwiththesystem,thenthe
warninglightwillilluminatecontinuously-
contactyourdealerattheearliestopportunity.
