UNDERSTANDING YOUR INSTRUMENT PANEL

Floor
Rear Seat Outlets
Air is directed throu gh the floor outlets with a
lesser amount throu gh the defrost and side
wind ow demist outlets.
These outlets are located und er the front seats and direct
warm air to the rear seat passengers. Air is directed
throu gh these outlets when you select either the Floor,
Bi-Level, or Mix modes.

Mix
Air is directed throu gh the floor, defrost and
side wind ow demist outlets. This setting
works best in cold or snow y cond itions that
requ ire extra heat at the wind shield . This setting is
good for maintaining comfort while red ucing mois-
ture on the wind shield .
Rear Win dow Defroster
The Rear Wind ow Defroster button is located to
the right of the Mod e Control. Press this button
once to turn on the Rear Wind ow Defrost and a second
time to turn them off. A light above the button show s that
the defroster is on.

Defrost
NOTE: The defroster turns off autom atically after 15
minu tes of operation. Each later activation will allow 10
minu tes of operation.
Air is directed throu gh the wind shield and
side wind ow demist outlets. Use this mode
with maxim um fan and tem peratu re settings for
best wind shield and side wind ow defrosting.
Sid e Win dow Demisters
A side wind ow demister outlet is at each end of the
instru ment panel. These non-ad justable outlets direct air
tow ard the side wind ows when the system is in either the
FLOOR, MIX, or DEFROST modes. A small amount of air
is directed to the side wind ow demisters in BI-LEVEL
mode as well. The air is directed at the area of the
wind ows throu gh which you view the outsid e mirrors.
NOTE: The air cond itioning compressor operates in
both Mix and Defrost modes even if the Air Cond itioning
is not selected . This dehu midifies the air to help dry the
wind shield .
