STARTING PROCEDURES
Automatic Transaxle
Before starting you r vehicle, adjust you r seat, adjust both
insid e and outsid e mirrors, and fasten you r seat belts.
The gear selector must be in the NEUTRAL or PARK
position before you can start the engine. Apply the brakes
before shifting to any driving gear.
CAUTIO N!
Normal Starting
Norm al Starting of either a cold or a warm engine does
not requ ire pumping or depressing the accelerator pedal.
Simply turn the key to the “START’” position and release
when the engine starts. If the engine has not started
within 3 second s, slightly depress the accelerator pedal
while continu ing to crank. If the engine fails to start
within 15 second s, turn the key to the “OFF” position,
wait 10 to 15 second s, then rep eat the norm al starting
proced ure.
Long period s of engin e idlin g, esp ecially at high
engin e speed s can cause excessive exhaust tem pera-
tures which can damage you r veh icle. Do not leave
you r veh icle unatten ded with the engin e running.
WARN ING!
Do not leave child ren or animals insid e park ed
veh icles in hot weath er. Interior heat build up may
cause seriou s injury or death .
