Do not connect the cable to the negative post of the
disch arged battery. The resu ltin g electrical spark
could cause the battery to explod e.
Durin g cold weath er when tem peratu res are below
freezin g poin t, electrolyte in a disch arged battery
may freeze. Do not attem pt jump startin g becau se
the battery could rupture or explod e. The battery
tem peratu re must be brou ght up above freezin g
poin t before attem ptin g to jump start.

Start the engine in the vehicle that has the booster
battery, let the engine idle a few minu tes, then start the
engine in the vehicle with the discharged battery.

When rem oving the jumper cables, reverse the above
sequ ence exactly. Be carefu l of the moving belts and fan.

Connect the other cable, first to the negative term inal
of the booster battery and then to the jump start attach-
ment of the vehicle with the discharged battery. Make
sure you have a good contact on the engine.
