STARTING AND OPERATING

WARN ING!
Ethanol vap ors are extrem ely flam mable and could
cause seriou s person al injury. Never have any smok-
ing materials lit in or near the veh icle when rem ov-
ing the fuel filler tube cap (gas cap) or fillin g the
tan k. Do not use E-85 as a clean ing agen t and never
use it near an open flam e.
Observing these precau tions will avoid possible hard
starting and / or significant deterioration in drivability
during warm up.
NOTE: When the ambient tem peratu re is above 90°F
(32°C), you may experience hard starting and rou gh idle
follow ing start up even if the above recom mend ations are
follow ed.
Fuel Requirements
Your vehicle will operate on both unlead ed gasoline with
an octane rating of 87, or E-85 fuel, or any mixtu re of
these two.
Selection of Engine Oil
For best perform ance and protection of you r vehicle, use
only crankcase engine oils that meet the follow ing re-
quirem ents:
For best resu lts, a refu eling pattern that alternates be-
tween E-85 and unlead ed gasoline shou ld be avoid ed.
When you do switch fuels, it is recom mend ed that:

you do not switch when the fuel gau ge ind icates less
than 1/ 4 full
you do not add less than 5 gallons (19 liters) when
refu eling
