Coolan t Pressu re Cap
CAUTIO N!
The cap must be fully tightened to prevent loss of
coolant, and to insu re that coolant will retu rn to the
rad iator from the coolant reserve tank.
Be sure to use only the coolin g system pressu re cap
specified for you r veh icle. Use of any oth er pressu re
cap may resu lt in decreased engin e coolin g system
perform ance and/or damage to you r veh icle.
The cap shou ld be insp ected and cleaned if there is any
accumulation of foreign material on the sealing surfaces.

Disp osal Of Used Engin e Coolan t
Used ethylene glycol based engine coolant is a regu lated
substance requ iring prop er disposal. Check with you r
local authorities to determ ine the disposal rules for you r
community. Do not store ethylene glycol based engine
coolant in open containers or allow it to rem ain in
puddles on the grou nd . Prevent ingestion by anim als or
child ren. If ingested by a child , contact a physician
immediately.
The warn ing word s “DO NOT OPEN HOT” on the
coolin g system pressu re cap are a safety precau tion .
Never add coolan t when the engin e is overh eated .
Do not loosen or rem ove the cap to cool an over-
heated engin e. Heat causes pressu re to build up in
the coolin g system . To preven t scald ing or injury, do
not rem ove the pressu re cap while the system is hot
or under pressu re.

Coolan t Level
The coolant bottle provid es a quick visu al method for
determ ining that the coolant level is adequ ate. With the
engine off and cold, the coolant level shou ld be betw een
the “MIN ” and “MAX” marks on the side of the coolant
bottle. Some darkening of the coolant bottle will occur
