Lap/Sh oulder Belt Operatin g Instru ction s
Enter the vehicle and close the door. Sit back and
adjust the front seat.
The seat belt latch plate is above the back of you r seat.
Grasp the latch plate and pull out the belt. Slide the latch
plate up the webbing as far as necessary to make the belt
go arou nd you r lap.

A belt that is buckled into the wron g buckle will

not protect you prop erly. The lap portion could rid e
too high on you r body, possib ly causin g intern al
injuries. Alw ays buckle you r belt into the buckle
nearest you .

• A belt that is too loose will not protect you as well.
In a sudden stop you could move too far forw ard ,
increasin g the possib ility of injury. Wear you r seat
belt snugly.

bones. Wear the belt over you r shoulder so that you r

A shoulder belt placed behind you will not protect
you from injury durin g a collision . You are more
lik ely to hit you r head in a collision if you do not
wear you r shoulder belt. The lap and shoulder belt
are mean t to be used togeth er.

When the belt is long enou gh to fit, insert the latch
plate into the buckle until you hear a “click.”
