Multi-Pu rpose Lubricant, NLGI Grad e 2, shou ld be ap-
plied sparingly to all pivot and sliding contact areas.
Other Body Mechanism s
The follow ing bod y mechanism s shou ld be insp ected
and , if necessary, all pivot and sliding contact areas of
these components shou ld be lubricated with the lubricant
specified as follow s:
Extern al Lock Cylin ders
Lubricate the external lock cylind ers twice a year, prefer-
ably in the fall and spring. Apply a small amount of
lubricant, such as Mop ar Lock Cylind er Lubricant di-
rectly into the lock cylind er (avoid excess lubricant).
Insert the key into the lock cylind er and rotate from the
unlocked to the locked position; withou t adding more
lubricant. Repeat this proced ure three or four times. Wipe
all the lubricant off the key with a clean cloth, to avoid
soiling clothing.

Spra y Whit e Lube:
If you use a lubricant that cannot be dispensed directly
into the lock cylind er, apply a small amount of the
lubricant to the key. Insert the key into the lock cylind er,
then proceed as described above, to distribu te the lubri-
cant within the lock cylind er. Pay attention to tru nk
hinges, especially during cold weather, to ensu re ease of
tru nk operation.
