THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE STARTING YOUR VEHICLE

Airbags inflate in moderate to high speed impacts. Along
with the seat belts, front airbags work with the instru -
ment panel knee bolsters to provid e improved protection
for the driver and front passenger. Left and right wind ow
airbags also work with seat belts to improve occupant
protection.
WARN ING!

Do not put anything on or arou nd the fron t airb ag
covers or attem pt to manually open them. You may
damage the airb ags and you could be injured be-
cause the airb ags are not there to protect you. These
protective covers for the airb ag cushions are de-
sign ed to open only when the airb ags are inflatin g.

The seat belts are designed to protect you in many typ es
of collisions. The front airbags deploy only in moderate
to severe frontal collisions. If you r vehicle is so equ ipped,
the wind ow bag on the crash side of the vehicle is
triggered in moderate to severe side collisions. In certain
typ es of collisions where the airbags deploy, you need the
seat belts to keep you in the right position for the airbags
to protect you prop erly.
