Raisin g the veh icle high er than necessary can make
the veh icle less stab le. It could slip off the jack and
hurt som eon e near it. Raise the veh icle only enough
to rem ove the tire.
A loose tire or jack throw n forw ard in a collision or
hard stop could endanger the occupants of the ve-
hicle. Alw ays stow the jack parts and the spare tire in
the places provid ed.

Remove lug nu ts and tire.
12. Wheel cover installation (if requ ired ). Do not attem pt
to install a wheel cover on a compact spare. Align valve
notch in wheel cover with valve stem on wheel. Snap
cover into place.

Mou nt spare tire.
Tighten all lug nu ts on mounting stu ds.
Lower the vehicle to the grou nd by turning the jack
NOTE: When reinstalling the center cap it is necessary
to align the center cap notch with the first spoke, just
right of the valve stem .

Fully tighten the lug nu ts. Torque wheel lug nu ts to
ft. lbs. (135 N·m).
13. Adjust the tire pressu re as soon as possible. Correct
pressu re is on the label located on the driver’s door.

Store the flat tire, jack and tools.
