ON for up to 90 second s after you turn the ignition
switch OFF. To turn the Autom atic System OFF, turn the
head light switch clockw ise to the OFF position.
Battery Protection
This featu re provid es battery protection to avoid wearing
down the battery if the head lights, park lights, or front
fog lights are left on for extend ed period s of time when
the ignition switch is in the LOCK position. After 3
minu tes of the ignition switch being in the LOCK posi- 3
tion and the head light switch in any position other than
OFF or AUTO, the lights will turn off autom atically until
the next cycle of the ignition switch or head light switch.
NOTE: The engine must be running before the head -
lights will come ON in the Autom atic mode.
Daytime Running Lights (Canada/Fleet Vehicles
Only)
The Daytim e Running Lights will come on whenever the
vehicle is running, the head lights are off, and the parking
brake is off. The head light switch must be used for
norm al night time driving.
The battery protection featu re will be disabled if the
ignition switch is turned to any other position other than
LOCK during the 3 minu te delay.
Lights-on Reminder
Headlight Time Delay — If Equipped
This featu re provid es the safety of head light illumination
for up to 90 second s, when leaving you r vehicle in an
unlighted area.
If the head lights or the park lights are left on, or if the
dimmer control is in the extrem e top position after the
ignition switch is turned off, a chim e will sou nd when the
driver’s door is opened .
To activate the delay featu re, turn off the ignition switch
while the head lights are still on. Then turn off the
