Adding Coolan t
CAUTIO N!
When adding coolant, or refilling the system , a minim um
of 50% solu tion of ethylene glycol antifreeze coolant in
water shou ld be used . Higher concentrations (not to
exceed 70%) are requ ired if tem peratu res below Ϫ37°F
Mixin g of coolan ts oth er than specified (non-
HOAT), may resu lt in engin e damage that may not
be covered under the new veh icle warran ty, and
decreased corrosion protection . If a non-HOAT cool-
ant is introd uced into the coolin g system in an
emergen cy, it should be rep laced with the specified
coolan t as soon as possib le.
(Ϫ38°C) are anticip ated .
Use only high purity water such as distilled or deionized
water when mixing the water/ antifreeze solu tion. The
use of lower quality water will red uce the amount of
corrosion protection in the engine cooling system .
Do not use plain water alon e or alcoh ol base anti-
freeze prod ucts. Do not use addition al rust inhibi-
tors or antiru st prod ucts, as they may not be compat-
ible with the rad iator coolan t and may plug the
rad iator.
Please note that it is the owner’s resp onsibility to main-
tain the prop er level of protection against freezing ac-
cord ing to the tem peratu res occurring in the area where
the vehicle is operated .
This veh icle has not been design ed for use with
Prop ylen e Glycol based coolan ts. Use of Prop ylen e
Glycol based coolan ts is not recom mended.
NOTE: Mixing coolant typ es will decrease the life of the
engine coolant and will requ ire more frequ ent coolant
changes.
