THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE STARTING YOUR VEHICLE

have been program med to the vehicle can be used to start
and operate the vehicle.
If the Theft Alarm / Immobilizer Light comes on during
norm al vehicle operation (vehicle has been running for
longer than 10 second s), a fault has been detected in the
electronics and the vehicle shou ld be serviced as soon as
possible.
The Sentry Key Immobilizer System does not need to be
arm ed or activated . Operation of the system is autom atic
regard less of whether or not the vehicle is locked or
unlocked . During norm al operation, the Theft Alarm /
Immobilizer Light will come on for three (3) second s
immediately after the ignition switch is turned on for a
bulb check. Afterw ard s, if the bulb rem ains on, this
ind icates a problem with the electronics.

Exxon/ Mobil Speed Pass,™ additional Sentry Keys, or
any other transp ond er equ ipped components on the
sam e keychain will not cause a key-related (transp on-
der) fault unless the additional part is physically held
again st the ign ition key being used when starting the
vehicle. Cell phones, pagers, or other RF electronics
will not cause interference with this system .
If the bulb begins to flash after the bulb check, this
ind icates that an invalid key has been used to start the
vehicle. Both of these cond itions will resu lt in the engine
being shu t off after two (2) second s of running.
Keep in mind that a key which has not been program med
is also consid ered an invalid key even if it is cut to fit the
ignition lock cylind er for that vehicle.
