Engine Temperature Warning Light
The gau ge pointer will likely ind icate a higher tem pera-
ture when driving in hot weather, up mountain grad es,
or when tow ing a trailer. It shou ld not be allow ed to
exceed the upper limits of the norm al operating range.
This light warns of an overheated engine cond i-
tion. If the engine is critically hot, a continu ous
chim e will sou nd for 4 minu tes. After the chim e
turns off, the engine will still be critically hot until the
light turns off.

Vehicle Theft Alarm Light — If Equipped
This light will flash for approxim ately 15 sec-
ond s when the vehicle theft alarm is arm ing.
Drivin g with a hot engin e coolin g system could
damage you r veh icle. If tem peratu re gau ge read s (H),
pull over and stop the veh icle. Idle the veh icle with
the air condition er turned off until the poin ter drop s
back into the norm al ran ge. If the poin ter rem ain s on
the “H”, and you hear contin uous chimes, turn the
engin e off immediately, and call for service.

Temperature Gauge
The tem peratu re gau ge show s engine coolant tem pera-
ture. Any read ing within the norm al range ind icates that
the engine cooling system is operating satisfactorily.
