Battery flu id is a corrosive acid solu tion and can
burn or even blin d you . Don’t allow battery flu id to
contact you r eyes, skin or cloth ing. Don’t lean over a
battery when attach ing clam ps. If acid splash es in
eyes or on skin, flu sh the area immediately with
large amounts of water.
It is essen tial when rep lacin g the cables on the
battery that the positive cable is attach ed to the
positive post and the negative cable is attach ed to the
negative post. Battery posts are mark ed positive (+)
and negative (-) and identified on the battery case.
Cab le clam ps should be tigh t on the term inal posts
and free of corrosion .
Battery gas is flam mable and explosive. Keep flam e
or spark s away from the battery. Don’t use a booster
battery or any oth er booster sou rce with an output
greater than 12 volts. Don’t allow cable clam ps to
tou ch each oth er.
If a “fast charger” is used while battery is in veh icle,
discon nect both veh icle battery cables before con-
nectin g the charger to battery. Do not use a “fast
charger” to provid e startin g voltage.
Battery posts, term inals and related accessories con-
tain lead and lead compounds. Wash hands after
handlin g.
