MAINTAINING YOUR VEHICLE
Engine Fuel Filter
CAUTIO N!
A plugged  fuel  filter can  cause stalling,  limit  the speed  at
which   a vehicle   can  be  driven   or  cause  hard   starting.
Shou ld  an  excessive  amount   of  dirt  accumulate   in  the
fuel  tank, filter  rep lacem ent may  be necessary.
Damage   to the  catalytic   converter   can resu lt  if you r
veh icle is  not kept  in  prop er  operatin g  condition  . In
the  even t of engin e malfu nction  , particu larly  involv-
ing  engin e  misfire  or  oth er apparen  t  loss of  perfor-
mance,  have  you r veh icle serviced  prom ptly.  Con tin -
Catalytic Converter
The catalytic  converter   requ ires the  use of  unlead ed  fuel
only. Lead ed gasoline  will destroy  the  effectiveness  of the
catalyst  as  an emission  control   device.

malfu nction   could   cause  the  converter   to  overh eat,
resu ltin g in possib  le damage  to the  converter  and  the
veh icle.
Und er  norm al  operating   cond itions,   the  catalytic   con-
verter  will  not  requ ire  maintenance.   However,   it is  im-
portant   to   keep  the   engine   prop erly  tuned   to   assu re
prop er  catalyst  operation   and   prevent  possible   catalyst
damage.
NOTE:    Intentional    tam pering  with   emissions   control
system s  can   resu lt  in   civil   penalties   being    assessed
against  you .
