IF YOU NEED CONSUMER ASSISTANCE
REPORTING SAFETY DEFECTS
In Canada:
In the 50 United States and Washington D.C.: If you
believe that you r vehicle has a defect which could cause
a crash or cause injury or death, you shou ld immediately
inform the National Highw ay Traffic Safety Administra-
tion (NHTSA) in addition to notifying the manu factu rer.
If you believe that you r vehicle has a safety defect, you
shou ld contact the Custom er Service Dep artm ent imme-
diately. Canad ian custom ers who wish to rep ort a safety
defect to the Canad ian governm ent shou ld write to
Transp ort Canad a, Motor Vehicle Defect Investigations
and Recalls, 2780 Sheffield Road , Ottaw a, Ontario K1B
3V9.
If NHTSA receives similar complaints, it may open an
investigation, and if it find s that a safety defect exists in
a grou p of vehicles, it may ord er a recall and rem edy
campaign. However, NHTSA cannot becom e involved in
ind ivid ual problem s betw een you , you r dealer, and the
manu factu rer.
