AutomaticHeadlamp
System
ToenableAFL,settheexterior
lampcontroltotheAUTOposition.
MovingthecontroloutoftheAUTO
position willdeactivate thesystem.
AFLwilloperatewhenthevehicle
speedisgreaterthan3km/h
(2mph).AFLwillnotoperatewhen
thetransmission isinR(Reverse).
AFLisnotimmediately  operable
afterstarting thevehicle; driving
ashortdistance  isrequired to
calibrate theAFL.SeeExterior

Whenitisdarkenoughoutsideand
theexterior lampscontrolisinthe
automatic position, theheadlamps
comeonautomatically.SeeExterior

Theheadlamps automatically
changefromDRLtotheregular
headlamps depending onthe
darkness ofthesurroundings. The
otherlampsthatcomeonwiththe
headlamps willalsocomeon.
Thevehiclehasalightsensor
locatedontopoftheinstrument
panel.Makesureitisnotcovered,
ortheheadlamps  willbeonwhen
theyarenotneeded.
Whenitisbrightenoughoutside,
theheadlamps gooffandtheDRL
comeon.
CurveLighting
Thesystemmayalsoturnonthe
headlamps whendrivingthrougha
parkinggarageortunnel.
TheXenonlightbeampivotsbased
onthesteering  wheelposition and
vehiclespeedofatleast10km/h
ToturntheDRLlampsofforon
again,turntheexterior  lamps
controltotheoffposition   andthen
release. Forvehicles firstsoldin
Canada,theDRLlampscannotbe
turnedoff.
AdaptiveForward
Lighting(AFL)
(6
mph).Theheadlamps  shineatan
angleofupto15degreestothe
rightorleftofthedirection   oftravel.
Forvehicles withXenonheadlamps,
theAdaptive ForwardLighting
System(AFL)adjuststhe
headlamps toprovidegreaterroad
illumination invariousdriving
conditions.
MotorwayLighting
Ifthevehicleistraveling   straight
continuously athighspeeds,the
lightbeamautomatically  raises
slightly toincrease theheadlamp
range.
