Steamandscalding liquidsfroma
hotcoolingsystemcanblowout
andburnyoubadly.Theyare
underpressure, andifyouturn
thecoolantsurgetankpressure
cap—evenalittle—theycan
comeoutathighspeed.Never
turnthecapwhenthecooling
system,including thecoolant
surgetankpressure cap,ishot.
Waitforthecoolingsystemand
coolantsurgetankpressurecap
tocoolifyoueverhavetoturn
thepressure cap.
Checktoseeifcoolantisvisiblein
thecoolantsurgetank.Ifthecoolant
insidethecoolantsurgetankis
boiling, donotdoanything elseuntil
itcoolsdown.Ifcoolantisvisible
butthecoolantlevelisnotatthe
indicated mark,adda50/50mixture
ofclean,drinkable waterand
DEX-COOL®coolantatthecoolant
surgetank,butbesurethecooling
systemiscoolbeforethisisdone.
SeeEngineOverheating on
Ifnoproblemisfound,checkto
seeifcoolantisvisibleinthe
coolantsurgetank.Ifcoolantis
visiblebutthecoolantlevelisnot
attheindicated levelmark,adda
50/50mixtureofclean,drinkable
waterandDEX-COOL®coolantat
thecoolantsurgetank,butbesure
thecoolingsystem,including the
coolantsurgetankpressurecap,is
coolbeforeyoudoit.
