Tocheckthepowersteering fluid:
1. Turnthekeyoffandletthe
enginecompartment cooldown.

Removetheenginecover,
ifrequired. SeeEngineCover
on page 9‑9.
SeeEngineCompartment Overview
on page 9‑6 forreservoir location.
Ifthewarningcontinues, pull
over,stop,andparkthevehicle
rightaway.

Wipethecapandthetopofthe
reservoir clean.
WhentoCheckPowerSteering
Fluid
Unscrewthecapandwipethe
dipstick withacleanrag.
Ifthereisnosignofsteam,idlethe
engineforthreeminuteswhile
parked.Ifthewarningisstill
displayed, turnofftheengineuntilit
coolsdown.
Itisnotnecessary toregularly
checkpowersteering fluidunlessa
leakissuspected inthesystemor
unusualnoiseisheard.Afluidloss
inthissystemcouldindicate a
problem. Havethesysteminspected
andrepaired.
5. Replacethecapandcompletely
tightenit.
6.
Removethecapagainandlook
atthefluidlevelonthedipstick.
ThelevelshouldbewithintheHOT
mark.Ifnecessary,addonlyenough
fluidtobringthelevelwithin
themark.
