Adjusttheseat,iftheseatis
adjustable, soyoucansitup
straight. Toseehow,see“Seats”
intheIndex.
2.
Pickupthelatchplateandpull
thebeltacrossyou.Donotletit
gettwisted.
3.
Pushthelatchplateintothe
buckleuntilitclicks.
Pulluponthelatchplateto
makesureitissecure.Ifthebelt
isnotlongenough,seeSafety
BeltExtender on page 2‑26.
Thelap-shoulder beltmaylockif
youpullthebeltacrossyouvery
quickly.Ifthishappens, letthe
beltgobackslightly tounlockit.
Thenpullthebeltacrossyou
moreslowly.
Position thereleasebuttonon
thebucklesothatthesafetybelt
couldbequicklyunbuckled if
necessary.
5. Tomakethelapparttight,pull
upontheshoulder belt.
Iftheshoulder portionofa
passenger beltispulledout
alltheway,thechildrestraint
lockingfeaturemaybeengaged.
Ifthishappens, letthebeltgo
backallthewayandstartagain.
Itmaybenecessary topull
stitching onthesafetybelt
throughthelatchplatetofully
tightenthelapbeltonsmaller
occupants.
