towardaperson.Thiscould
causesevereinjuryoreven

belts,butdonotreplacethem.

Withseat-mounted sideimpact
airbags, thewordAIRBAGwill
appearonthesideoftheseatback
closesttothedoor.
Withroof-rail airbags, theword
AIRBAGwillappearalongthetrim.
Evenifyoudonothavearightfront
passenger seatinthevehiclethere
isstillanactivefrontalairbaginthe
rightsideoftheinstrument panel.
Donotplacecargoinfrontofthis
airbag.
Airbagsaredesigned tosupplement
theprotection provided bysafety
belts.Eventhoughtoday'sairbags
arealsodesignedtohelpreduce
theriskofinjuryfromtheforceofan
inflating bag,allairbagsmustinflate
veryquicklytodotheirjob.
Wearingyoursafetybeltduringa
crashhelpsreduceyourchance
ofhittingthingsinsidethevehicle
orbeingejectedfromit.Airbags
are“supplemental restraints”to
thesafetybelts.Everyoneinyour
vehicleshouldwearasafetybelt
properly—whetherornotthereis
anairbagforthatperson.
