If,afterreinstalling thechild
restraint andrestarting the
vehicle, theonindicator isstill
lit,turnthevehicleoff.Then
slightly reclinethevehicle
seatbackandadjusttheseat
cushion, ifadjustable, tomake
surethatthevehicleseatbackis
notpushingthechildrestraint
intotheseatcushion.
IftheOffIndicatorisLitforan
Adult-SizeOccupant
systemtodetectthatpersonand
enabletherightfrontpassenger
frontalairbagandseat-mounted
sideimpactairbag:
1.
Turnthevehicleoff.
2. Removeanyadditional material
fromtheseat,suchasblankets,
cushions, seatcovers,seat
heaters, orseatmassagers.
Alsomakesurethechild
restraint isnottrappedunder
thevehicleheadrestraint. Ifthis
happens, adjustthehead
restraint. SeeHeadRestraints
on page 2‑2.
3. Placetheseatbackinthefully
uprightposition.
4.
Havethepersonsituprightin
theseat,centered ontheseat
cushion, withlegscomfortably
extended.
Ifapersonofadult-size issittingin
therightfrontpassenger seat,but
theoffindicator islit,itcouldbe
becausethatpersonisnotsitting
properly intheseat.Ifthishappens,
usethefollowing stepstoallowthe

Restartthevehicle.

Restartthevehicleandhavethe
personremaininthisposition for
twotothreeminutesaftertheon
indicator islit.
Iftheonindicator isstilllit,
securethechildrestraint in
arearseatposition inthe
vehicle, andcheckwithyour
dealer/retailer.
Ifnorearseatisavailable, donot
installachildrestraint inthis
vehicle.
