Whenthismessageisdisplayed
wheneverthevehicleisstarted.
Tolimitwheelspin,especially in
slippery roadconditions, thesystem
shouldalwaysbelefton.But,TCS
canbeturnedoffifneeded.
anddcomesonandstayson,the
vehicleissafetodrivebutthe
systemisnotoperational. Driving
shouldbeadjusted accordingly.
TractionControl
System(TCS)
ThevehiclemayhaveaTraction
ControlSystem(TCS)thatlimits
wheelspin.Onafront-wheel-drive
vehicle, thesystemoperates ifit
sensesthatoneorbothofthefront
wheelsarespinning orbeginning to
losetraction. OnanAll-Wheel-Drive
(AWD)vehicle, thesystemwill
operateifitsensesthatanyofthe
wheelsarespinning orbeginning to
losetraction. Whenthishappens,
thesystembrakesthespinning
wheel(s)and/orreducesengine
powertolimitwheelspin.
Ifdcomesonandstayson,reset
thesystemby:
1. Stoppingthevehicle.
2.
Turningtheengineoffand
waiting15seconds.
TCS/StabiliTrakLight
dflashestoindicate thatthe
traction controlsystemisactive.
3.
Starting theengine.
Ifdstillcomesonandstayson,the
vehicleneedsservice.
Ifthereisaproblemdetected with
TCS,“ServiceTractionControl”is
displayed ontheDriverInformation
Center(DIC).SeeRideControl
SystemMessages on page 4‑38.
Thesystemmaybeheardorfelt
whileitisworking, butthisis
normal.
