Thissystemisdesignedtomake
installation ofachildrestraint easier.
TheLATCHsystemusesanchorsin
thevehicleandattachments onthe
childrestraint thataremadeforuse
withtheLATCHsystem.
Notallvehicleseatingpositions or
childrestraints haveloweranchors
andattachments ortoptether
anchorsandattachments.
MakesurethataLATCH-compatible
childrestraint isproperly installed
usingtheanchors, orusethe
LowerAnchors
vehicle's safetybeltstosecurethe
restraint, following theinstructions
thatcamewiththatrestraint, and
alsotheinstructions inthismanual.
Wheninstalling achildrestraint with
atoptether,youmustalsouse
eithertheloweranchorsorthe
safetybeltstoproperly securethe
childrestraint. Achildrestraint must
neverbeinstalled usingonlythetop
tetherandanchor.
Atoptether(A,C)anchorsthe
topofthechildrestraint tothe
vehicle. Atoptetheranchorisbuilt
intothevehicle. Thetoptether
attachment (B)onthechildrestraint
connectstothetoptetheranchorin
thevehicleinordertoreducethe
forwardmovementandrotation of
thechildrestraint duringdrivingorin
acrash.
Loweranchors(A)aremetalbars
builtintothevehicle. Thereare
twoloweranchorsforeachLATCH
