most yellow LED’s at a slightly dimmer level to ind icate
that the system is ON.
BRAKE ASSIST SYSTEM (BAS) — IF EQUIPPED
BAS is stand ard on vehicles equ ipped with electronic
stability program (ESP). The BAS is designed to optimize
the vehicle ’s braking capability during emergency brak-
ing maneu vers. The system applies optimum pressu re to
the brakes in emergency braking cond itions than might
otherw ise be afford ed solely by the driver ’s braking style.
This can help red uce braking distances. The BAS comple-
ments the antilock brake system (ABS). Applying the
brakes very quickly resu lts in the best BAS assistance. To
receive the benefit of the system , you must apply con-
tinu ous braking power during the stop ping sequ ence. Do
not red uce brake pedal pressu re.

When an audio tone is ind icated by the Rear
Park Assist display the system will MUTE the rad io if it
is turned on.

Vehicle Inform ation Center (EVIC) when the vehicle is in
PARK. Refer to “Personal Settings ” in the Electronic
Vehicle Inform ation Center section of this manu al for
