VEHICLE THEFT ALARM — IF EQUIPPED
it does not illuminate, the system is not arm ing. Also, if
you open a door during the arm ing period , the system
will cancel the arm ing process. If you wish to rearm the
system after closing the door, you must rep eat one of the
previou sly described arm ing sequ ences.
The Vehicle Theft Alarm system monitors the vehicle
doors for unau thorized entry and the ignition switch for
unau thorized operation. If som ething triggers the alarm ,
the system will prevent the vehicle from starting and
provid e the follow ing audible and visu al signals: the
horn will pulse; the head lights will flash; the park lights
will flash; and the Vehicle Theft Alarm Ind icator light in
the instru ment cluster will flash.

Todisarmthesystem: either press the UNLOCK button
on the rem ote keyless entry transm itter or insert a valid
sentry key into the ignition lock cylind er and turn the key
to the ON/ START position. If som ething has triggered
the system in you r absence, the horn will sou nd three
times when you disarm the system . Check the vehicle for
tam pering.
If som ething triggers the alarm , and no action is taken to
disarm it, the system will turn off the horn after 3
minu tes, turn off all of the visu al signals after 15 minu tes,
and then the system will rearm itself.
NOTE:
•
The driver ’s door key cylind er and the tru nk button on
the keyless entry transm itter cannot arm or disarm the
system .
To arm the system: Remove the key from the ignition
switch and either:

Press a power door lock switch while the driver ’s or

ing the tru nk button will not disarm the system . If
som eone enters the vehicle throu gh the tru nk and
opens any door the alarm will sou nd .

Press the LOCK button on the keyless entry transm itter.
After the last door is closed , or if all doors are closed , the
system will arm itself in abou t 16 second s. During that
time, the Vehicle Theft Alarm Ind icator light will flash. If

unlocked from the interior power door lock switches.
