Insp ect the belt system period ically, checking for cuts,
frays and loose parts. Dam aged parts must be rep laced
immediately. Do not disassem ble or modify the system .
Examine tires for excessive tread wear or uneven wear
patterns. Check for stones, nails, glass, or other objects
lodged in the tread . Insp ect tread and sidewall for cuts or
cracks. Check wheel nu ts for tightness, and tires (inclu d-
ing spare) for prop er pressu re.
Front seat belt assem blies must be rep laced after a
collision. Rear seat belt assem blies must be rep laced after
a collision if they have been damaged (bent retractor, torn
webbing, etc. If there is any question regard ing belt or
retractor cond ition, rep lace the belt.
Lights
Have som eone observe the operation of exterior lights
while you work the controls. Check turn signal and high
beam ind icator lights on the instru ment panel.
AirbagLight
The light shou ld come on and rem ain on for 6 to 8
second s as a bulb check when the ignition switch is first
turned ON. If the LED is not lit during starting, have it
checked . If the light stays on or comes on while driving,
have the system checked by an authorized dealer.
FluidLeaks
Check area und er vehicle after overnight parking for fuel,
engine coolant, oil or other fluid leaks. Also, if gasoline
fumes are detected or fuel, power steering fluid or brake
fluid leaks are suspected , the cause shou ld be located and
corrected immediately.
Defroster
Check operation by selecting the defrost mode and place
the blow er control on high speed . You shou ld be able to
feel the air directed against the wind shield .
