Follow the shift pattern on the gearshift knob.
Manual Overdrive Transmission
When park ing you r veh icle, alw ays leave a manual
tran smission in first gear and apply the park ing
brak e fully to guard again st veh icle movem ent and
possib le injury or damage. Never use any gear as a
substitu te for the park ing brak e.
NOTE: The backu p lights will come on when you r
vehicle is in reverse gear and the ignition is in the ON
position.

To drive as safely as possib le and to prolon g the life
of you r manual tran smission , follow these tip s:

Before shifting from a forw ard gear into reverse, or
from reverse to a forw ard gear, stop vehicle com-
pletely. Otherw ise, transm ission damage may resu lt.
•
Do not operate at sustained high engine or road
speed s in lower gears. Engine damage may resu lt.
