THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE STARTING YOUR VEHICLE
If you do have a collision which deploys the airbags, any
or all of the follow ing may occur:
If these particles settle on you r clothing, follow the
garm ent manu factu rer’s instru ctions for cleaning.

The nylon airbag material may som etim es cause abra-
sions and / or skin red dening to the driver and front
passenger as the airbags deploy and unfold .
• airbagsIt is nothaveadvisabledeployedto. Ifdriveyou areyouinvolvedr vehicle inafteranotherthe
collision, the airbags will not be in place to protect you .
The abrasions are similar to friction rop e burns or
those you might get sliding along a carp et or gym na-
sium floor. They are not caused by contact with
chem icals. They are not perm anent and norm ally heal
quickly. However, if you haven’t healed significantly
within a few days, or if you have any blistering, see
you r doctor immediately.
WARN ING!
Deployed airb ags cannot protect you in anoth er
collision . Have the airb ags rep laced by an autho-
rized dealer as soon as possib le.

As the airbags deflate you may see som e smoke-like
particles. The particles are a norm al by-p rod uct of the
process that generates the nontoxic gas used for airbag
inflation. These airborne particles may irritate the skin,
eyes, nose, or throat. If you have skin or eye irritation,
rinse the area with cool water. For nose or throat
irritation, move to fresh air. If the irritation continu es,
see you r doctor.
