Release brake pedal and ensu re that there is no vehicle
Shifting Out Of Neutral (N)

Use the follow ing proced ure to prep are you r vehicle for
norm al usage.

Shut the engine off and place the ignition key into the
unlocked OFF position.

Apply parking brake.

2. Shift transfer case lever into desired position.

Attach vehicle to the tow vehicle with tow bar.
Release parking brake.
3. Shift autom atic transm ission into D (Drive) or release
clutch on manu al transm issions.
NOTE: When shifting out of transfer case N (Neutral)
on autom atic transm ission equ ipped vehicles, turning
the engine off may be requ ired to avoid gear clash.
CAUTIO N!
Damage to the tran smission may occur if the tran s-
mission is shifted into P (Park ) with the tran sfer case
in N (Neutral) and the engin e running. With the
tran sfer case in N (Neutral) ensure that the engin e is
off prior to shiftin g the tran smission into P (Park )
(refer to step s 7 – 8 above).
