WHAT TO DO IN EMERGENCIES

Alw ays park on a firm , level surface as far from the
edge of the road way as possible before raising the
vehicle.

Apply the parking brake firm ly before jacking.
To preven t person al injury or damage to cloth ing, do
not allow battery flu id to contact eyes, skin, or
fab rics. Do not lean over a battery when connectin g
jumper cables or allow cable clam ps to tou ch each
oth er. Keep open flam es or spark s away from battery
ven t holes. Alw ays wear eye protection when work -
ing with batteries. Do not use a booster battery or
any oth er booster sou rce that has a greater than
Alw ays block the wheel diagonally opposite the wheel
being raised .

Do not raise the vehicle higher than is necessary to
rem ove the tire.

Never start the engine with the vehicle on a jack.
Do not let passengers sit in the vehicle when it is on a
jack.
