and Genu ine Parts” in Section 7 for axle differential
lubrication specifications for tow ing.
Shifting Into Neutral (N)
Use the follow ing proced ure to prep are you r vehicle for
recreational tow ing.
SNOW PLOW
Snow plows should not be added to the front end of you r
vehicle.
CAUTIO N!
It is necessary to follow these step s to be certain that
the tran sfer case is fully in N (Neutral) before
recreation al tow ing to preven t damage to intern al
parts.
RECREATIONAL TOWING (BEHIND
MOTORHOME, ETC.)

CAUTIO N!
1.
Dep ress brake pedal.
Intern al damage to the tran sfer case will occur if a
fron t or rear wheel lift is used when recreation al
tow ing.
2. Shift autom atic transm ission into N (Neutral) or de-
press clutch pedal on manu al transm ission.

Shift transfer case lever into N (Neutral).
Start engine.
NOTE: The transfer case must be shifted into N (Neu-
tral) for recreational tow ing.
Shift autom atic transm ission into D (Drive) or manu al
transm ission into gear.
