If A Deploym ent Occurs
The airbag system s are designed to deploy when the
airbag control modules detect a moderate-to-severe col-
lision, to help restrain the driver and front passenger, and
then immediately deflate.
At no time shou ld any supplemental restraint system
(SRS) component or SRS related component or fas-
tener be modified or rep laced with any part excep t

NOTE: A collision that is not severe enou gh to need
airbag protection will not activate the system . This does
not mean som ething is wrong with the airbag system .
WARN ING!
If you do have a collision which deploys the airbags, any
or all of the follow ing may occur:
Unapproved modification s or service proced ures to the
fron t passen ger seat assem bly, its related components,
or seat cover may inadverten tly change the airb ag
deploym ent in case of a fron tal crash . This could resu lt
in death or seriou s injury to the fron t seat passen ger if
the vehicle is involved in an accident. A modified
vehicle may not comply with required Federal Motor
Vehicle Safety Stan dards (FMVSS).

The nylon airbag material may som etim es cause abra-
sions and / or skin red dening to the driver and front
passenger as the airbags deploy and unfold . The
abrasions are similar to friction rop e burns or those
you might get sliding along a carp et or gym nasiu m
floor. They are not caused by contact with chem icals.
They are not perm anent and norm ally heal quickly.
