Usin g a tran smission flu id oth er than the manu-
factu rer’s recom mended flu id may cause deterio-
ration in tran smission shift quality and/or torq ue
converter shudder. Usin g a tran smission flu id
oth er than that recom mended by the manufactu rer
will resu lt in more freq uent flu id and filter
changes. Refer to “Flu ids, Lubrican ts, and Genu-
ine Parts” for the correct flu id typ e.

No change necessary.
Main ten ance schedule “B”—All Engin es – Every 60,000
miles (100 000 km) change fluid and filter und er the
follow ing cond itions:

Police, taxi, limousine, commercial typ e operation, or 7
trailer tow ing where the vehicle is driven regu larly for
more than 45 minu tes of continu ous operation.
•
Dirt and water in the tran saxle can cause seriou s
damage. To preven t dirt and water from enterin g
the tran saxle after checking or rep len ish ing flu id,
make certain that the dipstick cap is re-seated
prop erly.
NOTE: Refer to Section 8 of this manu al for mainte-
nance sched ules.
