STARTING AND OPERATING
The follow ing ind icators shou ld be used to ensu re that
you have engaged the transm ission gear selector lever
into the PARK position:
CAUTIO N!
Before shiftin g the gear selector lever out of PARK,
you must turn the ign ition from LOCK to ON so the
steerin g wheel and gear selector lever are released .
Otherw ise, damage to the steerin g colu mn or gear
selector lever could resu lt.

When shifting the gear selector lever into PARK,
depress the button on the gear selector lever knob and
firm ly move the lever all the way forw ard until it
stop s.
•

Look at the shift ind icator wind ow on the console to
ensu re it is in the PARK position.
REVERSE
Shift into this range only after the vehicle has come to a
complete stop .
When engaged in PARK, you will not be able to move
the gear selector lever rearw ard withou t depressing
the gear selector lever knob button
NEUTRAL
The engine may be started in this range.
DRIVE / OVERD RIVE
This range shou ld be used for most city and highw ay
driving. It provid es smoothest upshifts and downshifts,
and best fuel econom y.
