Turn the ignition switch to the ON/ RUN position.
Hold the battery side of the hand -held transm itter
the “Gate Operator/ Canad ian Program ming” section.

After training a HomeLink channel, if the garage 3
door does not operate with HomeLink and the ga-
rage door opener was manu factu red after 1995, the
garage door opener may have a rolling code. If so,
proceed to the head ing “Program ming A Rolling Cod e
System .”
away from the HomeLink button you wish to program .
Place the hand -held transm itter 1–3 in (3-8 cm) away
from the HomeLink button you wish to program while
keep ing the ind icator light in view.

Simultaneou sly press and hold both the chosen
HomeLink button and the hand -held transm itter button
until the HomeLink ind icator changes from a slow to a
rap idly blinking light, then release both the HomeLink
and hand -held transm itter buttons.
4. Press and hold the just-trained HomeLink button
and observe the ind icator light.
If the ind icator light stays on constantly, program ming is
complete and the garage door (or device) shou ld activate
when the HomeLink button is pressed .
Watch for the HomeLink ind icator to change flash rates.
When it changes, it is program med. It may take up to 30
second s, or longer in rare cases. The garage door may
open and close while you train.
