Before setting out on a trip , practice turning, stop ping
and backing the trailer in an area away from heavy
traffic.
Towing Tips — Autom atic Transmission
The OVERDRIVE/ DRIVE range can be selected when
tow ing. However, if frequ ent shifting occurs while in this
range, the [3] range shou ld be selected .
NOTE: Using the [3] range while operating the vehicle
und er heavy operating cond itions will improve perfor-
mance and extend transm ission life by red ucing exces-
sive shifting and heat build up. This action will also
provid e better engine braking.

The autom atic transm ission fluid and filter shou ld be
changed if you REGULARLY tow a trailer for more than
45
minu tes of continu ous operation. See the “Mainte-
nance Sched ule” in Section 8 of this manu al for transm is-
sion fluid change intervals.
