Toreleasetheparkingbrake,holdtheregularbrake
pedaldown,thenpushdownmomentarily onthe
parkingbrakepedaluntilyoufeelthepedalrelease.
Slowlypullyourfootupofftheparkbrakepedal.Ifthe
parkingbrakeisnotreleased whenyoubegintodrive,
thebrakesystemwarninglightwillflashandachime
willsoundwarningyouthattheparkingbrakeisstillon.
Itcanbedangerous togetoutofthevehicleifthe
shiftleverisnotfullyinP(Park)withtheparking
brakefirmlyset.Thevehiclecanroll.Ifyouhave
lefttheenginerunning, thevehiclecanmove
suddenly.Youorotherscouldbeinjured. Tobe
surethevehiclewillnotmove,evenwhenyouare
onfairlylevelground,usethestepsthatfollow.

brake.
MovetheshiftleverintotheP(Park)position by
pullingtheshiftlevertowardyouandmovingitup
asfarasitwillgo.

Turntheignition keytoLOCK/OFF.
Removethekeyandtakeitwithyou.Ifyoucan
leavethevehiclewiththeignition keyinyourhand,
thevehicleisinP(Park).
