Accessory poweroutletscanbeusedtoconnect
auxiliary electrical equipment, suchasacellular
telephone.
Oneaccessory poweroutletislocatedinsidethecenter
floorconsole. Liftuponthelowerlatchlocatedatthe
frontoftheconsolelidtoaccesstheaccessory power
outlet.
EPMworkstopreventexcessive discharge ofthe
battery.Itdoesthisbybalancing thegenerator's output
andthevehicle's electrical needs.Itcanincrease
engineidlespeedtogenerate morepower,whenever
needed.Itcantemporarily reducethepowerdemands
ofsomeaccessories.
Theremayalsobeanaccessory poweroutletlocated
ontherearofthecenterfloorconsoleabovethe
cupholder.
Normally,theseactionsoccurinstepsorlevels,without
beingnoticeable. Inrarecasesatthehighestlevelsof
corrective action,thisactionmaybenoticeable tothe
driver.Ifso,aDriverInformation Center(DIC)message
mightbedisplayed, suchasBATTERYSAVER
ACTIVE,BATTERYVOLTAGELOW,orLOW
BATTERY.Ifthismessageisdisplayed, itis
recommended thatthedriverreducetheelectrical
loadsasmuchaspossible. SeeDICWarningsand
Messages onpage4‑48.
Removetheprotective captousetheaccessory power
outlet.Whennotinuse,alwayscovertheaccessory
poweroutletwiththeprotective cap.
Donottrytoputthecigarette lighterinanyofthe
accessory poweroutlets.
Notice: Ifelectrical devicesareleftpluggedintoa
poweroutlet,thebatterymaydraincausingthe
vehiclenottostartordamagetothebattery.This
wouldnotbecoveredbythevehiclewarranty.
Alwaysunplugallelectrical deviceswhenturning
offthevehicle.
BatteryRun-DownProtection
Thisfeatureshutsoffthedomelampsiftheyareleft
onformorethan10minuteswhentheignition isin
LOCK/OFF.Thishelpstopreventthebatteryfrom
runningdown.
