Adjusttheseat,iftheseatisadjustable, soyou
cansitupstraight. Toseehow,see“Seats”inthe
Index.

Pickupthelatchplateandpullthebeltacrossyou.
Donotletitgettwisted.
Thelap-shoulder beltmaylockifyoupullthebelt
acrossyouveryquickly.Ifthishappens, letthebelt
gobackslightly tounlockit.Thenpullthebelt
acrossyoumoreslowly.
3.
Pushthelatchplateintothebuckleuntilitclicks.
Ifyoufindthatthelatchplatewillnotgofullyinto
thebuckle,seeifyouareusingthecorrectbuckle.
Iftheshoulder portionofapassenger beltispulled
outalltheway,thechildrestraint lockingfeature
maybeengaged. Ifthishappens,letthebeltgo
backallthewayandstartagain.
Pulluponthelatchplatetomakesureitissecure.
Ifthebeltisnotlongenough,seeSafetyBelt
Extender on page 2‑29.
Engaging thechildrestraint lockingfeaturemay
affectthepassenger sensingsystem,ifequipped.

moreinformation.
Position thereleasebuttononthebucklesothat
thesafetybeltcouldbequicklyunbuckled if
necessary.
Ifthebeltstopsbeforeitreachesthebuckletiltthe
latchplateandkeeppullingthesafetybeltuntilit
canbebuckled.
