HotCheckProcedure
Usethisprocedure tocheckthetransmission fluidlevel
whenthetransmission fluidtemperature isbetween
160°F
and200°F(71°Cand93°C).
Thehotcheckisthemostaccurate methodtocheck
thefluidlevel.Thehotcheckshouldbeperformed at
thefirstopportunity inordertoverifythecoldcheck.
Thefluidlevelrisesasfluidtemperature increases, soit
isimportant toensurethetransmission temperature is
withinrange.

Locatethe
transmission dipstick
attherearofthe
enginecompartment,
onthepassenger side
ofthevehicle.

IfthefluidlevelisbelowtheCOLDcheckband,
addonlyenoughfluidasnecessary tobringthe
levelintotheCOLDband.Itdoesnottakemuch
fluid,generally lessthanonepint(0.5L).Donot
overfill.
