console, comesonandstaysonforseveralseconds,
flashesforseveralmoresecondsandthencomeson
solidforseveralmore.
Thesystemcheckstheairbag's electrical systemfor
possible malfunctions. Ifthelightstaysonitindicates
thereisanelectrical problem.Thesystemcheck
includes theairbagsensor,thepretensioners, the
airbagmodules, thewiringandthecrashsensingand

Theairbagreadiness light
comesonsolidforafew
secondswhentheengine
isstarted. Ifthelightdoes
notcomeonthen,haveit
fixedimmediately.
Thischimeandlight
sequence isrepeated if
thepassenger remains
unbuckled andthevehicle
isinmotion.
Ifthepassenger safetybeltisbuckled, neitherthe
chimenorthelightcomeson.
Thefrontpassenger safetybeltwarninglightandchime
mayturnonifanobjectisputontheseatsuchasa
briefcase, handbag, grocerybag,laptoporother
electronic device.Toturnoffthewarninglightandor
chime,removetheobjectfromtheseatorbucklethe
safetybelt.
