Thislightcomesonbriefly
whentheignition keyis

engineisnotrunning, as
achecktoshowitis
working.
IfthewordONortheonsymbolislitonthepassenger
airbagstatusindicator,itmeansthattherightfront
passenger frontalairbagisenabled(mayinflate).
IfthewordOFFortheoffsymbolislitontheairbag
statusindicator,itmeansthatthepassenger sensing
systemhasturnedofftherightfrontpassenger frontal
airbag.
Ifitdoesnot,havethevehicleserviced byyourdealer/
retailer.
If,afterseveralseconds,bothstatusindicator lights
remainon,oriftherearenolightsatall,theremaybe
aproblemwiththelightsorthepassenger sensing
system.Seeyourdealer/retailer forservice.
Thelightshouldgooutoncetheenginestarts.Ifitstays
on,orcomesonwhiledriving, therecouldbeaproblem
withthecharging system.Acharging systemmessage
intheDriverInformation Center(DIC)canalsoappear.
SeeDICWarningsandMessages on page 4‑48 for
moreinformation. Thislightcouldindicate thatthereare
problems withagenerator drivebelt,orthatthereisan
electrical problem. Haveitcheckedrightaway.Ifthe
vehiclemustbedrivenashortdistance withthelighton,
turnoffaccessories, suchastheradioandair
conditioner.
