Thedomelampscomeonwhenanydoorisopened.
Theyturnoffafterallthedoorsareclosed.
Ifthevehiclehasfrontreadinglamps,pressthebutton
locatednexttothelamptoturnitonoroff.
Thedomelampscanalsobeturnedonbyturningthe
instrument panelbrightness knob,locatedonthe
instrument paneltotheleftofthesteering column,
clockwise tothefarthest position. Inthisposition, the
domelampsremainonwhetheradoorisopenedor
closed.
Thevehiclemayalsohavereadinglampsinother
locations. Thelampscannotbeadjusted.
ElectricPowerManagement
ThevehiclehasElectric PowerManagement (EPM)that
estimates thebattery's temperature andstateofcharge.
Itthenadjuststhevoltageforbestperformance and
extended lifeofthebattery.
DomeLampOverride
Thedomelampoverride buttonislocatednexttothe
exterior lampscontrol.
Whenthebattery's stateofchargeislow,thevoltageis
raisedslightly toquicklybringthechargebackup.
Whenthestateofchargeishigh,thevoltageislowered
slightly topreventovercharging. Ifthevehiclehasa
voltmeter gageoravoltagedisplayontheDriver
Information Center(DIC),youmayseethevoltage
moveupordown.Thisisnormal.Ifthereisaproblem,
analertwillbedisplayed.
k(DomeOff): Pressthebuttoninandthedome
lampsremainoffwhenadoorisopened.Pressthe
buttonagaintoreturnittotheextended position so
thatthedomelampscomeonwhenadoorisopened.
Entry/ExitLighting
Thebattery canbedischarged atidleiftheelectrical
loadsareveryhigh.Thisistrueforallvehicles. Thisis
becausethegenerator (alternator) maynotbespinning
fastenoughatidletoproduceallthepowerthatis
neededforveryhighelectrical loads.
Thevehiclehasanilluminated entry/exit feature.
Thedomelampscomeonifthedomeoverride buttonis
intheoutposition, whenadoorisopenedorthekeyis
removedfromtheignition.
