Fuelcansprayoutonyouifyouopenthefuelcap
tooquickly.Ifyouspillfuelandthensomething
ignitesit,youcouldbebadlyburned.Thisspray
canhappenifthetankisnearlyfull,andismore
likelyinhotweather.Openthefuelcapslowlyand
waitforanyhissnoisetostop.Thenunscrewthe
capalltheway.

Ifafirestartswhileyouarerefueling, donot
removethenozzle.Shutofftheflowoffuelby
shuttingoffthepumporbynotifying thestation
attendant. Leavetheareaimmediately.
Becarefulnottospillfuel.Donottopofforoverfill the
tankandwaitafewsecondsafteryouhavefinished
pumpingbeforeremoving thenozzle.Cleanfuelfrom
paintedsurfaces assoonaspossible. SeeWashing

Notice: Ifyouneedanewfuelcap,besuretoget
therighttype.Yourdealer/retailer cangetonefor
you.Ifyougetthewrongtype,itmaynotfit
properly.Thismaycausethemalfunction indicator
lamptolightandmaydamagethefueltankand

Whenreplacing thefuelcap,insertthetetherinitshole
beforetightening thecap.Turnthefuelcapclockwise
untilitclicks.Itwillrequiremoreefforttoturnthefuel
caponthelastturnasyoutightenit.Makesurethecap
isfullyinstalled. Thediagnostic systemcandetermine if
thefuelcaphasbeenleftofforimproperly installed.
Thiswouldallowfueltoevaporate intotheatmosphere.
