ThevehiclemayhavetheMagneRide controlsystem.
MagneRide constantly checksspeed,wheelposition,
lift/dive andsteeringofthevehicle. Thedampingforce
foreachshockabsorber andadjustment levelischosen
forthebestrideandhandling.
LockingRearAxle
MagneRide alsoworkswiththetow/haul switchthat,
whenengaged, willprovidemorefirmness fromthe
shockabsorbers. Thisaddedcontrolgivesbetterride
andhandling whencarrying heavyloadsortowinga
trailer.SeeTow/HaulMode on page 3‑39 formore
information.
Vehicleswithalockingrearaxlecangivemoretraction
onsnow,mud,ice,sandorgravel.Itworkslikea
standard axlemostofthetime,butwhentraction islow,
thisfeaturewillallowtherearwheelwiththemost
traction tomovethevehicle.
RoadSensingSuspension
All-WheelDrive(AWD)System
TheRoadSensingSuspension (RSS)featureprovides
superior vehiclerideandhandling underavarietyof
passenger andloadingconditions.
Withthisfeature, enginepowerissenttoallfourwheels
atalltimes.Thisislikefour-wheel drive,butthereisno
separate leverorswitchtoengageordisengage the
frontaxle.Itisfullyautomatic, andadjustsitselfas
neededforroadconditions.
Thesystemisfullyautomatic andusesacomputer
controller tocontinuously monitorvehiclespeed,wheel
tobodyposition, lift/dive andsteering position ofthe
vehicle. Thecontroller thensendssignalstoeachshock
absorber toindependently adjustthedampinglevelto
providetheoptimumvehicleride.
